President
& CEO of Carolina Media Professionals |
|
Rachel
has over 20 years experience in media buying for both radio
and television. Thats no surprise considering she
grew up in a “media family,” which owned radio stations
and a large agency. Even her earliest memories are of radio
and media. “While traveling with my family in the car, my
dad would stop at every radio station we saw. I grew up
with radio and then television. It is all that I have ever
known.”
She
began to develop her media skills in 1982 while working
for her family’s agency, then continued to hone them while
working in nearly every capacity of the media industry.
“I’ve done everything from dubbing tapes and recording the
old style reel-to-reel, to visiting radio station tower
sites.”
Rachel had just started working with radio
infomercial advertising in 1988 when inspiration struck.
“I saw TV infomercials and wondered, ‘Why not use the audio
portion on radio?’ I immediately began calling TV clients
(e.g.: Tony Robbins, Victoria Principal) and was soon placing
the audio portion of TV infomercials into radio spots. To
my knowledge, especially in the late 80’s, no one else had
done this. That is how it all started!”
Rachel has always delighted in spending time with her two sons, Neal and Lawson, ages 23 and 16. Neal is in college studying pre-med to be a Veterinarian. Lawson is in high school. Rachel married Joshua Greene in 2005. Josh is a licensed General Contractor, recently starting his own business. As a family (when they are able to get family time with the boys as they are older) they enjoy watching football South Carolina (Josh’s team) and Florida Gators (Neal and Lawson’s team) and of course the Carolina Panthers! Sunday afternoons are “loud” to say the least at the Greene home when Neal and Lawson’s friends come over to watch the game. Rachel cooks and loves every minute of it! Other family time is spent watching movies, tossing football, shooting basketball and entertaining friends with cook outs, pool time in the summer, time with family and cousins and just “simple family time”. Lawson is an avid golfer both personally and for his school. He also plays the Junior County circuit (in summer) hoping to make a golf scholarship. Summer is spent going to watch Lawson in tournaments (and everything Golf). Winter is spent going to watch Lawson play basketball which he is equally as skilled as he is in golf.
Josh and Rachel keep extremely busy working both inside and outside the home while sharing the family and household duties. They also have two Maltese (dogs) and inherited Neal’s Spanish Mastiff! What a contrast! The Maltese Cody & Chloe’ weigh 5lbs and Dutch (the Mastiff) weighs over 110 lbs. Weekends are there favorite time of the week as most other working couples. Sunday’s are filled up with Church, lunch with family (both sides). Josh and Rachel enjoy renting a movie and grilling a great meal during the week. They also manage to meet with friends for dinner whenever possible!
